Troubleshooting App Connection Issues
Common solutions for resolving app connection problems with Pinlights Classic.
Use Bluetooth
Units produced after October 2024 feature native Bluetooth support. If you're running firmware 0.1.9 or earlier, upgrade to firmware 0.2.0 for Bluetooth support.
Remove the game from your Pinlights app
Tap into your game from the Pinlights home screen, scroll down to the bottom and hit "Remove Game"
Factory Reset the Pinlghts controller
Locate the "NUKE" button on the Pinlights controller board (just above the GI input header). With the board powered on, hold the "NUKE" button for 10 seconds. This will reset the Pinlights board and re-enable the onboard Bluetooth beacon.
Re-add the game to your Pinlights app
Hit the [+] icon in the upper right hand corner of the Pinlights home screen. The app will detect your board as "PL XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX" (the last 6 digits are the board's unique MAC address). Tap the detected board to add it back to your app.
Use Bluetooth
When prompted to select a Wifi network, select "Manage via Bluetooth" instead. This will allow you to connect to the Pinlights board via Bluetooth and configure your game settings.
