Troubleshooting Pinlights Pro App Issues

Common solutions for resolving app connection problems with Pinlights Pro.

My Pinlights app shows a blank screen when managing Pinlights Pro settings!

This is most likely due to an old app version. We make updates and add new features/bugfixes frequently, so using old software can often lead to minor headaches.

1

Check that you have the latest version of the app installed

If you're on Android, you can download the latest version of the app from the Google Play Store. If you're on iOS, make sure you use the app from Testflight as it has all of the latest bugfixes and feature updates. For more information on how to install the Testflight version of the app, check out our Pinlights Pro Quick Start Guide.

2

Factory Reset the Pinlghts controller

Locate the "NUKE" button on the Pinlights controller board (just above the GI input header). With the board powered on, hold the "NUKE" button for 10 seconds. This will reset the Pinlights board and re-enable the onboard Bluetooth beacon.

3

Re-add the game to your Pinlights app

Hit the [+] icon in the upper right hand corner of the Pinlights home screen. The app will detect your board as "PL XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX" (the last 6 digits are the board's unique MAC address). Tap the detected board to add it back to your app.

4

Use Bluetooth

When prompted to select a Wifi network, select "Manage via Bluetooth" instead. This will allow you to connect to the Pinlights board via Bluetooth and configure your game settings.
